This Sunday February 6th at 18h30, CQMF researchers Michel Pézolet and Michèle Auger will be featured on the program Découverte on Radio-Canada television. They will be discussing silk spider as a functional material in a report called « Le mystère de Nephila ».

Pr. Benoît Marsan's research selected by Québec Sciences amongst their Top 10 discoveries of the year
Québec Sciences magazine has selected in their 2010 Top ten discoveries of the year the work of Benoit Marsan on the amelioration of Grätzel type solar cells.
These researches, inspired by photosynthesis, pave the way for flexible, more efficient and cheaper solar cells.

A great succes for CQMF Annual Conference
On October 7, we were over 125 persons at the Orford Arts Centre to attend CQMF Annual Conference. Professors, students, postdocs, research professionals got together for a day of conferences and poster presentations.
Our guest speakers, including Joël Moreau (director of École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier), really enjoyed the conference. They emphasized the excellence of our research and CQMF dynamism.

This program is an excellent funding opportunity for international training.

CQMF competition: 4 scolarships for international training
CQMF is expecting your applications in order to select 4 candidates that will be presented to the FQRNT for the international training program. With this program, FQRNT supports the international mobility of the masters and PhD students that are members of its strategic clusters.
A student can receive up to 2 500$ per month (max. 15 000$) for an international training (from 2 to 12 months) on a research subject included in the scientific program of CQMF and in one of the eligible countries.
Application to the CQMF deadline: Novembre 22, 2009

This year, UQAM will host our annual Conference that will be held on October 22 and will begin with the plenary lecture of Jean-Marie Lehn (Nobel price in Chemistry 1987).
Students are invited to present a poster.

A research theme on energy is added to CQMF scientific program
Since last April, 13 new members have joined CQMF. Indeed, FQRNT has accepted to support us in our initiative to widen the initial scope of CQMF with the addition of a research theme on energy.
